The Friends of Highfield Infants’ School would like to give you all a huge thankyou for your generous wholehearted support for our activities this year. We will make in excess of £15,000 this year, which is a staggering total. With more money potentially to come in, it looks like 2008 will be a record year of fundraising for FHIS. This is all only possible because of your enthusiastic and generous support. All the funds raised are used to support and enrich the children’s learning experience. This year we have been able to fund state of the art computers, air conditioning for the new buildings, a new pupil kitchen, events in the activity week and other regular spending on items such as water and stickers. Below is an example of one of the many events you generously supported. Thanks also to all the parents, friends and carers, who attended and supported the Macmillan coffee morning. They raised a total of £438.72. FHIS will receive a percentage of the sales that the other stands made on that day. Here are some pictures of the delicious home made cakes, the fantastic stands that allowed some of us to start getting ready for Christmas and some of the drawings of our budding artists.
The "Friends of Highfield Infants' School" (FHIS) was formed in October 1993 out of a group of parents and staff who, until then, operated informally as a fundraising committee. FHIS is now a registered charity (No 1032975). FHIS now organises social and fund-raising events for the school. For example, in the school year 2004-2005 we raised £13,398.65. See the section below for examples of where we have put this money to good use. We are always happy to welcome parents and families as active members of the FHIS, so if you want to know more, please contact any of the committee members (see below) or the school office. At our AGM on 17th September 2007, the following officers were elected for the coming school year
You don't have to be on the committee to get involved. Everyone is welcome, as any contribution big or small, makes a difference to the success of our events. You can contact us via the school office. Here are just a few of the examples where the funds raised by FHIS have been re-invested back into the school for the benefit of the current and future pupils.
