Intra-competition

Intra-competitions

Each term there will be an intra-competition focussing on the three core skills of running, jumping and throwing. These competitions are designed to be fun and exciting and give children some of their first experiences of competing both individually and for a team.

For all of the intra competitions and Sports days in the Infant school all children will remain in their sports teams as they were for Sports Day in July 2016.

The teams are:

Greg Rutherford

Mo Farah

Ellie Simmonds

Jessica Ennis-Hill

Tom Daley

Each intra competition children will earn points for their team and then the winning team will win the end of year trophy.

The focus each term will be:

Autumn 1 Autumn 2 Spring 1 Spring 2 Summer 1 Summer 2
Running Hopping

Standing

long jump

Skipping Javelin Catching

Competition results will be announced in our sports assembly and posted in our newsletter and on our website.

Congratulations to the Jessica Ennis-Hill (black) team which won the skipping intra competition in the Spring 2 term. The children enjoyed learning to skip and have continued to practise during playtimes and lunchtimes.
If your child would like some more practise we shared this clip to break down the different steps to skipping success.

This term's intra competition is the javelin. Watch out for the results which will be announced in assembly and on the school website at;
