Our Local Committee

Welcome to the Local Committee

The Highfield Schools are delighted to be part of the Nexus Education School Trust (NEST), and although we work very closely with them, the governance of our schools is carried out by the Local Committee working across both Highfield Schools.

The role of the Local Committee is to provide strategic leadership and to fulfil our statutory obligations.

Our key responsibilities are:

  • Setting the aims and objectives for the schools

  • Setting the policies for achieving those aims and objectives

  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress made towards achieving these aims and objectives

  • Being a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher and Leadership Team.

  1. are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and play a vital role in raising school standards. To operate effectively the Local Committee appoints members who bring a wide range of knowledge and experience. The Local Committee consists of the Headteacher, Community members, Parent members and Staff members.

Local Committee meetings occur every half term and Local Committee Members visit the schools on a regular basis.

Further information on the Local Committee can be found below, but if you wish to contact me then please do so by email: jo.addison@highfield-inf.bromley.sch.uk or via either school office.
